Alex has experience of working on a broad range of actuarial areas from his time in the UK and in Asia. This includes:

  • Product development and pricing;
  • Statutory valuation and capital;
  • Embedded value reporting;
  • Prophet modelling, including ALS;
  • Asset liability management;
  • Market consistent valuation;
  • Asset modelling (including derivatives);
  • M&A valuation and due diligence work; and
  • Participating fund management issues

Alex’s recent experience with Milliman has included:

  • Supporting Appointed Actuary work for Singapore life companies
  • Working on numerous buy- and sell-sides for various M&A transactions and bancassurance deals in Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia
  • Reviewing and optimising regulatory capital positions for par funds following the introduction of RBC2 in Singapore
  • Assessing par-fund TVOG materiality for IFRS 17 purposes in Malaysia
  • Dealing with par fund bonus management issues in Vietnam
  • Handling expense allocations with respect to par funds in Singapore
  • Developing par fund governance policies
  • Developing Prophet ALS models for par and universal life business in Singapore
