Molly Barth
Molly Barth is a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) consultant with Milliman’s San Francisco Property and Casualty Practice. She joined the firm in 2017.
Experience
Molly helps manage the practice’s GIS databases, develops customized geospatial datasets for clients, and performs spatial analysis to support rate-making and climate resiliency planning.
Molly’s areas of expertise include:
- Leveraging hydrographic, elevation, and land cover datasets in actuarial modeling
- Tailoring applications of census demographic and cartographic boundary data
- Using open-source GIS tools
- Developing geospatial databases
- Performing data visualization and map automation
Molly has developed a nationwide database of GIS layers and query logic for flood insurance pricing and provides operational support for several flood insurance rating projects. She also frequently works with auto telematics data to assist in the development of Milliman AccuRate Fleet’s insurance scores.
Molly is actively researching the societal effects of climate change, especially on homeowners' insurance availability and affordability. She partners with other Milliman colleagues to research the implications of wildfire-related insurance regulations to support equitable and sustainable decisions for clients and regulators.
